Back in the ’80s, this Baldwin S12M (built in the late ’40s and later repowered by EMD) was the backbone of the Belhaven NC Branch. Workers are seen here replacing the cab-end truck. A crane was brought to the Pinetown NC yard to do the heavy lifting. This was about 1989.
