I once got to watch the secret sauce mixed at Bills Hot Dogs. I was doing an article for the Washington Daily News in 1990 and got to visit one Tuesday morning during the weekly chili cook. Later that morning, I took this photo of co-owners Virginia and Lynn Gerard. The ladies were married to brothers Walter and Parker Gerard who owned the farm supply next door to Bills. I took this picture in March 1990.
