For the past few years we’ve had a Mississippi Kite nest in the neighborhood. A storm destroyed it sometime before the nesting season. We were afraid that we were not getting kites this year. BUT, happily one morning last week, I spotted a couple of them and went to a better spot to see. There is apparently a nest in neighboring woods, and there were several young kites learning their way around, swooping from tree to tree, alighting with siblings in first one tree then another. I estimated eight to 12 kites total. I took these photos May 26, 2022.
