I went to visit my uncle in Chesapeake VA last week. While waiting for him to get home, I spotted a heron in his front yard. The yellow-crowned night heron was more interested in the local crabs and a good preening than an old fart with a monopod creeping into the edge of his marsh on the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River. I took these April 25, 2022.
