The swamp is an ingrained love for me. I was born to a backyard swamp in Gates County between the Great Dismal Swamp and the old Tuscarora reservation on the north shore of the Chowan River. It was my playground and refuge. A swamp on the north shore of Tranters Creek is now my home of more than 35 years. The rich air of the swamp is the breath of life. Week 12 was March 20-26.
